Shabby Chic Home Decor Panel by CI Shweta Tapsi Khode

Hey everyone!
Shweta here and I’m very excited today because this post marks my debut on Prika’s blog as a Craft Inspirator for the term of the next 6 months. I’m very glad and thankful to Prika to have gotten this opportunity to work along side a talented team of crafters. I’m already enjoying it.

This month we have a very interesting challenge theme- Color Palette with Bling.
And here is my inspiration project for you guys.

I’ve created a shabby chic home decor panel with glitter in it. The colour dominating my project is teal. I just love this colour, and when I saw the colour palette, it just pulled me towards it.
List of supplies used:
➤ White gesso, Mixed Media paste — Little Birdie
➤ White cardstock — Prika
➤ Pattern paper — some local brand from my stash
➤ Art stones- Prima
➤ Sequins- Prika
➤ Fussy cut flower, leaves- icraft
➤ Die cuts- DMC dies
➤ Handmade flowers — icraft Deckled edge paper and icraft foam
➤ Glitter — local

Here are the directions:
➤ I chose white cardstock as the base. Took a teal pattern paper cut in a size tad smaller than the white cardstock, distressed it using scissors and brown distress ink. To add more depth, I tore the paper from a side and rolled the edges to give a worn look. Then adhered the whole base on a thick cardboard base to make it strong and sturdy.
➤ Then, I started by applying texture paste through a flourish stencil. Assembled handmade flowers, die cuts, fussy cut elements to my liking. I always make my own flowers for my projects. I love making them.
➤ Then I added some glitter on the white cardstock that was showing through the torn edges of pattern paper. Also added glitter, sequins and art stones here and there. Splattered white gesso and added a nice sentiment. Did some light stamping here and there. Lastly fixed a hook at the back of the cardboard so that the panel could be hung on a wall.
➤ And done. I’ve tried capturing the glitter by turning the flash on. Hope you can get a glimpse of it.

I hope this inspires you to create something. Do participate in the monthly challenge.
Also, please read and follow the challenge rules properly. It is very heartbreaking to see beautiful entries getting disqualified.
Also, don’t forget to comment if you like my creation.
Hope you all have a crafty time.
Until then, see ya!!
