Quick Tags making Tutorial by Guest Designer Shweta Tapsi Khode

Hello everyone.
Shweta here today, to share my guest designer post.
Prika has an interesting ongoing challenge mood board this month- Winter Blues with a Twist. I have created three beautiful tags on the lines of the challenge mood board to inspire the crafter in you.
Check them out.

Each one is different than the other. I’ve picked up all the colours from the mood board and did separate combinations on each tag. I also picked up other details from the mood board apart from the very obvious colours- like strings, twines and pearls. There are so many possibilities, I tried working with a few. Hope this inspires you.
List of Supplies used:
➤ White, Off white and Light Brown Cardstocks
➤ iCraft Stencils
➤ Little Birdie 2-in-1 mixed media paste
➤ iCraft chalk paints
➤ Fevicryl acrylic colors
➤ Inspiration chippie from iCraft
➤ Leaf chippie from Papericious

Here I go.

The first one is fairly simple. I’ve targeted the blue and white colours here.
➤ I cut a tag from white cardstock and added some diluted blue acrylic colour on it and also splattered some.
➤ Then I fussy cut some flowers and leaves from speciality decoupage papers I had in my stash and pasted them onto the tag.
➤ Added some ribbon, diy enamel dots and a sentiment and it’s done.
It looks so clean and simple, yet beautiful. After working on so many mixed media projects, I really enjoyed making this simple and clean tag. It was a refreshing change.

Second one is easy too. Targeted the browns here.
➤ Used light brown colour tag base.
➤ Mixed some dark brown acrylic colour with mixed media paste and used it to add texture on the tag using a script stencil.
➤ Splattered some white and blue acrylic colours on the tag.
➤ Added two foamiran flowers handmade by me and two foliage die cuts, some pearl twine and a sentiment and voila!
It’s done. Easy, isn’t it?

Third is a purely mixed media tag. Targeted the teal and white colours here.
➤ Took an off white cardstock base, made a tag and added mixed media paste to create textures using a stencil.
➤ Coloured it using teal chalk paint.
➤ Did some stamping here and there.
➤ Splattered some brown acrylic paint.
➤ Assembled die cuts, chippies, twine, fussy cut elements,  foamiran flowers handmade by me, to my liking.
➤ Distressed the edges of the tag using brown distress ink. Added a sentiment chippie and some lace and done.
Easy all of them, weren’t they? So, what are you waiting for? You can create stuff like this too. Get going and participate in this ongoing challenge.
Don’t forget to leave some love if you like my work.
Till then, see ya!!
