Craft Enthusiast: Meeta Bhalotia

Hello Craftpreneurs,
Our very last featured crafter for this month is here, sharing with us about her little crafty life …”Craft Enthusiast of the Week : Meeta Bhalotia ”  a happy-go-lucky homemaker from Kanpur and now settled in Kochi feels truly blessed to have such creative instinct since childhood, and always finding time to paint and craft then and now.......There’s lot more to know about her journey and her passion for crafting in her own words…as well as some of her amazing projects she had worked upon!

This is what Meeta speaks about her journey as a crafter and her story of being a craftpreneur….
Hello friends, I am Meeta Bhalotia. I was born and raised in Kanpur and now settled in Kochi. I am a happy-go-lucky home maker who has always had an inclination towards arts and craft. I am a Psychology major. As a kid and a young girl, I used to spent my free time in front of a canvas with a palette full of colours.
How it’s all started? (My Crafting Journey!)
A few years after my marriage and once my daughter was a big girl, I resumed my passion for art and craft and ventured into multiple craft genres like quilling, mixed media, scrapbooking, decoupage, felt busy books and handmade designer soaps. 7 years ago I just started my Facebook page ‘The Quill Mill Crafts’ for fun. Never did I know that crafting will become my life. Now it’s no looking back and I keep on adding something new in my crafting journey all the time.

What Inspired me?
My family are my biggest inspirations. Their encouragement, appreciation and sometimes being critical about my work is my major source of inspiration. I take inspiration from everywhere …from nature, my fellow crafters, the virtual world and every possible place. I try to absorb as much as possible from everywhere.
My Most Favourite Crafts of All?
It’s quite difficult to choose a favourite as each creation is done with lots of love, detailing and hard work. In my case it’s like CRAFT FROM HEART as till I feel the satisfied with my project I keep on working on it. If I have to pick then I would say scrapbooking.

My style of crafting?
I don’t have any particular style of crafting. I want to be as versatile as possible. Repeating a design is not something that I usually do. My craft mantra is to make sure each project is unique and customised as per the client’s needs to keep them smiling.
My Future Plans?
Keep learning newer styles and forms of crafts. I would also love to hold workshops and spread the crafting knowledge to young and old.

Message for all Crafters!
Believe in yourself. Keep on trying till you succeed and are happy with your creation. It takes a lot of effort to finally get it right, but it will be worth the time because creating something from scratch is always a priceless creation.
As I always say “Don’t cage your creativity, let the bird of imagination fly high” Explore the craft as much as possible.
