This is what Niharika speaks about her journey as a crafter and her story of being a craftpreneur….

Hello
I am Niharika, born and brought up in Delhi, now living in Sweden with my husband and a seven year old princess. I am a software engineer by qualification, a design adventurer and a dreamer.
How it's all started? (My Crafting Journey!)

My journey of a stay at home mom to an entrepreneur is not only exhilarating but also onerous. It started in January 2014, when I was in Bangalore, with simple cards, and since then there is no looking back. I remember seeking for coffee shops and florists to display my cards to gain some audience, way before I had my Facebook page, or I knew about famous craft stores in the city. Niharika Expressions, today a brand by its own right, is like my brain child that was conceived in an attempt to find my place in the world through my artistic expression.

What Inspired me?

Though I never imagined being a designer professionally, I was passionate about crafts from childhood. While trying to find a way to sooth my creative soul, I learnt to believe in my dreams.
My husband has always been by my side to help me achieve whatever I dream of. Leaving the everyday hustle and rustle away for some time, I love spending my creative time on my work desk. It is amazing to be a part of this crafting industry and around people from across the world who inspire me with their work. The positive and encouraging feedback from my clients and team members is what keeps me going.
My Most Favourite Crafts of All?
Scrapbooking is one of the most fun projects to me in the world. I love thinking about creating new styles, and I love the whole process. Fussy cutting the tiniest elements in the paper packs and colouring the stamps works like a therapy for me.

My style of crafting?
While it started with simple cards, it grew with one technique at a time. I try to improvise and try something new, something unique with each of my project. While working on a scrapbook, or any other project, I think a lot about the practical use of the end product.
My Future Plans?
It is extremely delightful to make something memorable for my clients and an amazing feeling of atonement to inspire many crafters with my work. With more workshops being planned and organised, I wish to inspire and teach more creative souls across the world.

Message for Fellow Crafter's!
There are times, when I feel super excited and aimed, and also when I feel low and unmotivated, but I never stopped believing in my dreams. All I think about is creating something new, making something visible which without me, will never be seen. That’s what my tip for my fellow as well as new crafters will be. The worst enemy of creativity is self-doubt. Keep creating with a free mind and soul, with an aim to improve.
Let your mind be free, believe in yourself and enjoy the happy ride.
