This is what Heena speaks about her journey as a crafter and her story of being a craftpreneur….
Hello Everyone,
I am Heena Shaikh from bloomingpaperbuds.com, I am extremely honoured for being here and so happy to share about my crafty journey with yáll.
I am a 24 yr old passionate crafter from Mumbai India, an IT graduate by qualification. I have been crafting for 6 years and I started blogging from the past 2 years. I have always had a keen interest in art and crafts, well I can say that my mind worked better at creating and understanding art than solving math problems. Growing up I really enjoyed drawing and I was hooked to painting, I have won many prizes for painting. Once I discovered my passion for art it opened more doors to different forms and styles of art and craft and that is how I got started.

How it's all started? (My Crafting Journey!)
I have been crafting for a few years now, although I feel I have been crafting since the beginning of time, I started some serious crafting when I discovered this art of rolling paper called quilling and Punch craft. It was new and something unique and I absolutely loved doing it back then. I would search Pinterest for ideas and inspirations and that’s how I discovered scrapbooking and mixed media. I really enjoy making interactive cards and explosion boxes. I have tried my hands on many different types of art and craft and my crafting style has changed over the years and it keeps changing.

What Inspired me?
My mother has been my biggest inspiration and motivator, she has always encouraged me to explore art and try different forms. I grew up watching my mom sketching Henna designs, doing fashion sketches and teaching that, she was a Fashion designer and she practised it for a few years. She had this big drawing journal which has her best hand-drawn sketches which she coloured and designed herself, and flipping through that journal gets me so excited even today. I also watched her creating organdy flowers, making crochet doilies and I would nag her all the time to teach me. so she is definitely my biggest inspiration. Other than that watching youtube, some amazing international crafters, enticing creations from the one and only Rajni Chawla inspired me to start blogging. I really wanted to share my work with others and I dreamed of having my own watermark on images and inspiring others with my work!

My Most Favourite Crafts of All?
Well Its hard to choose.. every time I create something new I amaze myself and that becomes the new favourite but these are some of my all-time favourite creations.
My style of crafting?
I am more of a mixed media style artist now, I really enjoy doing it, love creating textures and I am also reliving my passion for painting through mixed media. I also love making foamiran flowers, cards and projects featuring them.

My Future Plans?
My future plans with crafting is to start travelling and teaching and starting my own workshops as I get tons of requests for classes.
other than that, I plan on discovering more, learning more and creating more. crafting is a passion and I don’t know what the future awaits for me and no matter what I do I’m sure I will find my way to craft and create things although the style may keep changing:))

Message for Newbies!
Don’t be afraid of creating because the joy and satisfaction of creating something is something that can only be felt and not explained!

And don’t shy away from trying something new and do not be disheartened if you don’t get it right at the start, keep experimenting keep creating!
