"Altered Key Holder" by DT Jaishree Bansal

Heya crafty bugs,
Are you up for another mixed media treat? Well then here it is an altered mixed media key holder made with chipboard elements and some stenciling. This is one of the most easiest and yet complicated looking piece of mixed media. So without further a due let’s get started.

To create this I used a tattered brick wall stencil and created the design here and there mostly on the edges. I also used a steampunk design stencil and added some gears around my focal point area.
Next I adhered all my steampunk gears including the steampunk butterfly. I used a metal flower on one side of the butterfly and an art pebble on the other.
Post this I covered everything with black heavy gesso. Once dried, I covered the background in metallic colour dark velvet which a beautiful shade of dark purple. I used emerald green for the inner areas of the steampunk gears and rusty red for the top of the gears.
Lastly, I used mettalique waxes to highlight everything in the background and on the steampunk gears. To add a finishing touch I adhered some micro art stones mixed with medium stones with the help of heavy body gel.
Here are some detailed images:
