"XOXO Layout - Inspired by Fall" by CI Priti Kedia

Hello friends!!

This is Priti, and I am here to share an inspiration project for this month's challenge - Inspired by Fall. PRIKA has such a beautiful mood board this month and there are so many ways in which you can get inspired - from the colours, the patterns, the elements, the quote and the season of course.

So here I have a beautiful page with lovely fall colours and a picture of my daughters. I have a beautiful Maggie Holmes collection called "Gather",  which has these lovely floral and bird pattern papers and they were just perfect for this theme and this layout.

Let's have a look at the supplies first and then I will take you through the process of making this 12"x12" scrapbook page.
  • PRIKA 270 gsm cardstock
  • Distress Inks
  • Ranger Opaque Matte texture paste
  • Prima stencil
  • Maggie Holmes Gather collection
  • Maggie Holmes Sticker Book

Step.1: I printed the picture and selected the pattern papers which I wanted to use for my fall inspired page. I also fussy cut some green and yellow florals and placed with a piece of bird pattern paper and the picture to have an idea about the design of my layout.

Step.2: Once my layout design was final, I started working on the background. I used the texture paste with a prima stencil to create the pattern on the right side of my page. Then I used a variety of distress inks and applied colour using the splattering technique on the textured part of the page. I used mostly these colours - mustard seed, ripe permission, crushed olive, worn lipstick, fired brick and fossilized amber. My idea was to match with the colours of the flowers and the pattern papers on the left.

Step.3: Once the background was dried and ready, I again placed all the flowers and the pattern paper and stuck them except the picture.

Step.4: Then I matted my picture on different pattern papers, mostly scraps from the same collection, popped it with foam tape and lastly added some stickers and embellishments from the sticker book. I also added few enamel dots and white acrylic paint splatters as finishing touches. To balance the colours a little more, added few splatters of fired brick distress ink on the left side of the page also.

Here are some close up pics:

I hope you are in love with this season and are inspired to create something. Please do leave a comment if you liked my project. Have a nice day!

XOXO,
Priti
