"Smile - Magical Moment" Layout by CI Priti Kedia

Hello friends!!

It's time for a new challenge at PRIKA "Bees, Birds and Butterflies" and loads of inspiration is coming from the team. I am here with another beautiful project for you which focuses on butterflies aspect of the challenge. I just love to use butterflies on my projects as they add the required movement to a scrapbook page.

Here are the main supplies which I have used to create this layout and a detailed step by step procedure.

  • White Cardstock from PRIKA - IRIS 270 gsm
  • Vellum from PRIKA
  • Butterflies element pack from PRIKA
  • Distress inks
  • Black and white acrylic paint/mist/spray

So let's get started. I fussy cut almost all the butterflies from the Butterflies element pack by Prika. They are so gorgeous in the hues of blue and pink and the paper quality is awesome. It took me some time to cut all of them but it was just worth it.

This is how they look once they are all cut.

At this point, I went ahead and picked the pictures which I wanted to scrapbook and printed them in black & white.

I also wanted to add colours to my page and distress inks are the perfect medium for me. So I used the packaging technique with lot of splatters to create this background.

I used Chipped Sapphire, Peacock feathers, Picked Raspberry and Shaded Lilac.

I also used some mist from Prima in the teal colour. Then I finished off the background with black acrylic paint splatters.

I matted my pictures on white cardstock and vellum from PRIKA and started placing the butterflies around it to figure out how I liked them. This takes some time but it looks amazing once done.

I stuck all the butterflies temporarily with a reposition able adhesive as I wanted to use foam tape to pop up some of them. This is how it looks like once everything is arranged and positioned.

Once my design is final, I went ahead and popped up few butterflies and stuck the rest of them only at the centre.

I also added white acrylic paint splatters, strips of black & white heart paper on the sides, the title, date and few heart stickers around the butterflies. This is how the final page looks like.

This page could be framed and hung on the wall and it will look absolutely beautiful.

I hope this post inspired you in some way. Looking forward to see your creations with bees, birds and butterflies :)
