A Quick Inspiration : “ Mixed Media Key Holder "

Here we begin the tutorial:

Step.1: I have used a MDF base and coloured it with chalk paint. Chalk paint works as a primer too so we can use them directly onto the base.

Step.2: I have selected a floral decoupage paper and cut them in 1inch strips.

Step.3: Then adhered them with decoupage glue, leaving a uniform gap between the stripes.

Step.4:
I planned to use a small wood plank to be the main focal point of my project.

Step.5: Coloured the wood piece with two ombre shades, then stencil the 3D calligraphy  'Welcome to our nest'. I used thick gold acrylic paint with sponge over the stencil to give the elevated look. And then further decorated with flowers & metal embellishment.

Step.6: Coming back to my base, I used a stencil (brick gate)in the centre with mix media paste.

Step.7: Now to decorate my scenery I used chipboard cutouts of tree & leaves and painted them with chalk paint & painted the bricks too. Then adhered the wood plank, tree, leaves with PVC glue. Then highlighted the tree, gate, edges with gold wax.

And here our beautiful key holder is ready.

It's so much fun making a simple wood plank into such an eye catching home decor item.

Do leave a comment if u liked my creation.
Thank you.
