A "Box of Love" by CI Priti Kedia

Hello friends,

This is Priti here, and today I am going to inspire with a beautiful handmade gift box which is simple and easy to make, and you would love to gift it to your loved ones during this valentines day. You can use this gift box for love notes and handwritten messages, chocolates, a small mini album or any other present.

Lets have a look at the supplies first:

  • Mintay Papers - 7th Heaven from PRIKA
  • Scoreboard
  • Paper trimmer
  • 3d foam tape
  • Black soot distress ink
  • Enamel dots and stickers
  • Stamps and Black Ink for stamping
  • Corner Punch
  • 1" Circle Punch

Tutorial:

Cut the double sided pattern paper to 11.5" by 7.5". Place the paper horizontally on the score board and score on the 11.5" side at 1.5", 5", 6.5" and 10". Now rotate the paper and score on the 7.5" side at 1.5" and 6". Fold the score lines.

Then we create notches on the corners which have to be glued down to form the sides of the box. Please refer the images below to see exactly where to cut.

Once we have all the notches, we can assemble the box by adding adhesive to the outside of all the flaps and gluing them to the inside of the box. This is a simple and easy way to create a box.

I used a corner punch to round the two corners of the lid. Then using a 1" circle punch, eyeball the centre and create a notch on the front of the lid to easily facilitate the opening of the box.

Once the box is constructed, I used the 3x4 cards and fussy cut elements from the pattern papers to decorate the top of the box. I used 3d foam tape at every layer to add dimension and height. I also added a sentiment and few enamel stickers.

I used Black soot distress ink to distress the edges of the box and all the embellishments.

I used some stamps from my stash to stamp few sentiments on the 3"x4" cards.

And the box is ready! :)

I hope you got some inspiration for a quick gifting idea. I will be looking forward to see your projects for our current blog challenge - Love Notes. Happy crafting!

Love,
Priti
