Craft Enthusiast: "Apexa Nagar"

Hello Craftpreneurs,
Another lovely week with another amazing crafter story to share with you all ... "CraftEnthusiast of the Week….. Apexa Nagar" she is truly the queen of alterations....and just amazingly turns anything into a piece of art...an engineer by education turned into expert creative teacher offers all her credit in life to her husband and family......Let’s know more about her journey of being an craftpreneur, her passion, and some of her amazing projects she had worked upon!

This is what Apexa speaks about her journey as a crafter and her story of being a craftpreneur….
By qualification I am a mechanical engineer but my passion towards art and craft never leaves me anywhere under any circumstances. My parents and husband have always encouraged me and been a great support system throughout my journey. I have two little munchkins who are like cupids of my life and at this small age of 5 years and 4 years they are supporting me to another extend.
Crafting is in my blood as it is gifted to me by my mother in hereditary. She is still very creative at the age of 76.

How it's all started? (My Crafting Journey!)
As I said I am a born crafter and even after my engineering I couldn’t stop myself from doing crafting, its like oxygen for me and not a single day passes by without creating something.
I turned my passion into profession in the year of 1998 by registering as a craft teachers with pidilite industries( which has creative unit now as hobby ideas) became expert teacher just after two years of registration with them and the very next year I became Super teacher with them for almost 5 years. My role was to train hobby teachers for the new products they launch in the market with new techniques.
I have managed to train more than 1200 hobby teachers all over india. And then started my own studio named “Art studio by Apexa” but took 5 years of break from 2012 to 2017 for family priorities and now resumed back last year.

What Who Inspired Me?
The very first inspiration is my mother as she always encouraged me to create unique things. She always said that whatever comes in your mind u create it without any fear of spoiling or any other negativity.
I get inspirations from everything and everyone and the day starts with some or the other inspiration.
My Most Favourite Crafts of All?
Altering anything is my favourite….. here is few projects I altered…Altered tray, Altered bulb, Altered printer cartridge, Altered bottles, Easel calendar, Tissue box, Tiny message tag, Fridge magnets and much more...

My Style of Crafting?
My forte is mix media, but simultaneously I would love to work on traditional themes too. My taste is very opposite like I can work with vintage and shabby chic, as well as I can work with bright colours.
My Future Plan?
I am shifting to Lucknow permanently next year and I strongly want to start one craft library…
Crafting has become very royal and expensive now a days where every one can not buy and have all the access to the machine or other crafting tools. I would like to give all the facilities to the fresh crafters under one roof. Lets hope for the best….

Message for All!
Learn to live life positively. create what your heart says and don’t compare it with other’s work. Appreciate if u feel your fellow crafter is really doing good…every one has some or the other problems, responsibilities, ups and downs in their life….. but no one can stop u doing better than you yourself….. learning is a continuous process of life… the biggest and honest teacher of your life is your own mistakes…. learn from them…. try to be better every time…. never give up…. and be positive in any situation….
