Hello Crafty Friends,
This month theme is ‘Stars, Moon and Galaxy’ which is one of my favourite. In most of my projects I use moon moulds and was excited that I got to make something which I really love. I love altered art, so I decided to alter a round wooden plaque.
Below is the list of supplies and later I have the picture of the items to refer the colours.
- Wooden Plaque
- Impasto paints
- Black Gesso
- Finnabair waxes
- Metal, Resin and wooden embellishments
- Metallique paint

Step 1: I started by applying the cobalt and black impasto paint on the wooden plaque. I used a sponge to blend the colours.
Step 5: I tried to use wooden embellishments as wings to the moon. I started colouring the embellishments. For Moon, I have used “Mint Spark” wax and for wings I have used “Peacock” wax. Then I highlighted the moon with “Old Silver” wax.
Step 6: Then I glued the embellishments and started waxing same. I used “Amethyst Magic” and “Mystic Turquoise” wax.
Step 7: Then I applied “Aged Brass” and “Indian Pink” wax to highlight some areas. Lastly I used Gold Metallique paint to add some splatter to give it a galaxy look.
The final Project is ready:
I hope you like my project and feel inspired to create project to participate in the challenge.
