This is what Rachana speaks about her journey as a crafter and her story of being a craftpreneur….
Hello to all lovely souls out there ! I am Rachana, basically from Indore (MP) and now settled in Bangalore. After completing my PG in finance, I worked in banking industry for many years. Now I am a proud mother of 7 years old, pursuing Phd in microfinance and managing my crafty venture named Craftshaala-by-Rachana. I create personalised home decor items and also conduct corporate workshops for various art & crafts. Since childhood, I was inclined towards handmade stuff and loved creating school projects, cards for friends/family’s birthday and several other artefacts. Crafting is my idea of attaining pleasure and satisfaction.
How it’s all started? (My Crafting Journey!)
Few years back I prepared a nameplate with clay for my home, friends loved it and insisted to prepare for them too. Initially I hesitated as I never thought of doing it professionally but finally made one for a close friend. After that orders started pouring in and there is no looking back since then.
My family (specially my mom and my husband) supported and motivated me to pursue crafting as career. Even my little daughter believes in my artistic skills and encourages me to try something new every time. All this inspired me to be a confident artist. And many thanks to Priyanka too for giving this inspiring platform to budding artists.
My Most Favourite Crafts of All?
I love all my projects , but customised nameplates are my most favourite creations. Reflecting story of a family on a piece of plank challenges my creative self the most.
My style of crafting?
Art is my soul, so I don’t restrict myself to any style. I love all forms of arts be it clay modelling, paper crafts, mixed media, decoupage , rangoli, calligraphy etc. This way either I am learning a new technique or teaching one.
My Future Plans?
I aspire to set up Craftshaala as a renowned brand in personalised home decor segment and also wish to start a craft studio that specializes in conducting Corporate and personal workshops to spread the joy of crafting
