"Altered Wooden Hoop" by DT Atiya Zubair

Hello there, everyone!
It is Atiya here today with an Altered Wooden Hoop. Lately, they have been quite popular and I couldn’t resist myself from making my own version of it. So, let’s get into the basics!

List of Supplies Used:
➤ Wooden Hoop
➤ White Gesso
➤ Distress Paint-Brushed Corduroy
➤ Prima Marketing "Wild+Free" Kit Paper Pack
➤ Paper Distresser
➤ Ink Pad-Watnut Stain
➤ Garden Green Die from Sizzix

Let's begin with further steps of making:
➤ Step 1 — Paint the hoop with White Gesso to give you a plain surface to play with. Next, go with the colour of your choice. I have used ‘Brushed Corduroy’ from the Distress Paints collection.
➤ Step 2 — When the base is all completed, start getting your paper pads out. In here I have used ‘Wild+Free’ kit collection by Prima Marketing. I was attempted to use as I had since months now. The paper is absolutely gorgeous! First, cut out the inner base then cut another one circle out 1/2 inch smaller than the first one. To give it a rough look, you can use a Paper Distresser. I have used the one by Tim Holtz and then distressed it using ‘Walnut Stain’ ink.
➤ Step 3 — Once the base is all set, go crazy with your embellishments. Haha! This is what I technically did. I have a habit was putting everything together before glueing anything down. I had used a bunch of flowers from different ranges of Prima Marketing. I have played the mixed and matched technique! Metal embellishments such as gears and flower stem are by Tim Holtz collection. The black leaves are die cuts using Garden Greens die by Sizzix.
The trick to put the bunch of embellishments together is to play with them until you are satisfied. In most parts, if it doesn’t feel right then I start from the scratch. There is no right or wrong when you are trying to blend everything together. As you can see, I have also used a little bit of lace and twine as well. Then, I went on to add Mini Art Stones by Finnabair to give it a bit of a texture. It might look tricky when you start but once everything balance out it is when the fun begins. I thoroughly enjoyed while making it

This is all for it today folks! I really hope you like it as much as I did. Make sure to post your Altered Art on Prika’s Facebook group. Can’t wait to see what all you come up with!
Until next time!
