Altered Glass Bottle Mixed Media by Guest Designer Varsha Gupta

Hello friends, I am Varsha Gupta

Today I am going to show you how to alter simple glass bottle in beautiful ways. This is my Inspiration project for Prika- All about craft as Guest Designer.

This is a project which you can gift to your loved ones as Diwali gift on this auspicious occasion of Deepawali.

Now the steps of making:

Step:1 . I covered the glass bottle with black heavy gesso.

Step:2. After the gesso is completely dried up. I applied thick layer of crackle over the black base. After that I added texture using texture paste and stencil.

Step:3. I wanted to create more texture so I used medium stones with glue, white texture paste and glitters as shown in below picture.

Step.4: I added embellishments like — lace, cheese cloth, jute thread, chipboards and Flowers etc.

Step:5. After that all my embellishments are placed, I covered them with white gesso diluted with water.

Step:6. After gesso is dried up, I started to colour my bottle with Lindy’s sprays, I also used water in order to spread colours.

Step:7. I applied dark prima paints on embellishments like — chipboards, shells, stones etc and I wanted to highlight the embellishments so I applied opal magic paints on top of embellishments like- flowers, leafs, butterfly and textured base.

Step:8. I used Tinted metallic paint golden to colour jute thread and sprinkled some glitters on it to provide a sparkling effect.
