I hope you have checked out this month's blog challenge which is "Go Monochrome". I just love this theme and I can proudly boast of several layouts which I have made in the monochromatic style. I am going to share a 12x12 scrapbook layout once again and I hope it will inspire you and get your creative juices flowing. Just use shades and tones of one single colour on your project, interesting right?
I decided to use the colour "Pink" to scrapbook my picture as the design team member for Papericious.
Please find the list of supplies and a detailed pictorial tutorial below:
- IRIS 270 gsm white cardstock from PRIKA
- Element Sheets from PRIKA
- Acrylic Paint in the shades of Pink
- Some pattern papers in pink
- Floral Die cut
- Heart, Star and word stickers
- Sequins
- Stamps
- Black mist
- Pearlescent Water colours in pink
Step.1: I first created my background using different pink shades of acrylic paint with brush strokes.
Step.2: Then I printed my picture in 3"x4" size and matted it with some tissue paper and a black dotted white pattern paper to add some neutrals. I also layered the pic with some labels and a tag.
Step.3: Then I arranged my floral die cuts in three clusters to form a visual triangle. I added some black and white flowers to bring in some more neutrals.
Step.5: Then I started adding some phrase stickers and hearts, stars and sequins in the groups of three, to all the three floral clusters. I also added a butterfly die cut which I had in my stash and it matched perfectly with the colours.
Step.6: To bring in some more interest to the page, I repeatedly stamped a sentiment around my clusters.
Step.7: Lastly, I added some pearlescent water colour splatters, black mist splatters, and sequins. I felt something was still missing and thought of experimenting with something different. So I tore the white card stock from the two corners and layered two types of pattern papers in pink overlapping each other. This made me happy and i really liked the final outcome :)
Here are some close ups:
I hope this post inspired you to create something with just one colour and you can see that it's not all that difficult. I am looking forward to see your projects in our blog challenge gallery and I am sure you will enjoy playing along. Please leave me some love if you liked my layout.
Love & hugs,
Priti
