"Cherish Scrapbook Layout" by CI Priti Kedia

Hello friends!!

Are you ready to play a game? Then lets play Tic-Tac-Toe together, and believe me it's going to be fun! Just pick three together and get crafting. This is Priti here, back with another inspiration project for this month's challenge.

I chose the last bottom row from the given Tic-Tac-Toe that is Stencils, Punches and Inks/Sprays as an inspiration for my project and this is what I came up with.

Please find the list of supplies and a detailed pictorial tutorial below:

  • IRIS 270 gsm white cardstock from PRIKA
  • Black 250 gsm card stock from PRIKA
  • Distress Inks - Spun Sugar, Abandoned coral, Barn door
  • Distress Stain - Tattered Rose
  • Ranger opaque matte texture paste
  • We are memory keepers Filmstrip punch
  • Stencils
  • Stamps
  • Pattern Papers
  • White or Clear Gesso
  • Teal spray mist from Prima
  • Black and white acrylic paints
  • Black Archival Ink

To begin with, I first chose my picture and the pattern paper collection as I wanted to use the same colour palette on my page as in the pattern papers. I have used the Simple Joy paper pack from DCWV and the teal, pink and the reds in the collection were the ones which got my attention.

I first prepped my card stock base with some white gesso and then smooshed some Tattered Rose distress stain on the page.

I then smooshed a darker colour as a second layer. This time I used Abandoned coral distress ink to get that beautiful red in the background.

I added a lot of splatters too. This is always my favourite part of the project :)

After this, I did some stencilling with a Kaisercraft stencil and another darker colour ink.

I just felt this page needed some additional texture. So I added some texture paste with a heart stencil after mixing it with the Spun Sugar distress ink to get that baby light pink shade as in the pattern papers. It so fun to keep adding textures and colours to a scrapbook page.

To bring in some neutrals, I stamped some stitched circles, hearts, words and star pattern on my layout using a black archival ink pad.

Since I chose Punches, I had to use one. This is what the game is all about! So I used my We are memory keepers filmstrip punch and punched out a strip from black cardstock.

Then I matted my picture with some pattern papers and this is how my page together. I have not used any other embellishments other than what was printed on the pattern papers itself.

As a final finishing touch, I added a ton of splatters of black and white acrylic paint and a teal spray mist from Prima. I love the way this layout turned out with all the different mixed media elements. I will definitely be adding the date and a bit of journaling later.

Hope this post inspired you to scrapbook your memories with limited mixed media supplies and just some pattern paper scraps from your stash. Also, you could skip any of the above steps and still you will get a beautiful page. Please do leave me some love if you loved my layout and looking forward to see you play along with us.

Love & hugs,
Priti
