Craft Enthusiast of the Week : Priya Satish

Hello Craftpreneurs,

Amazing day to start with talking about our another super talented crafter around us...... " Craft Enthusiast of the Week : Priya Satish " .... a super enthusiastic and creative person, having great sense of taking craft as a means to spread joy and inspiration for others to believe in. Her projects are inspired with life, nature and everything joyous around us......Let's get to know more about the crafting journey of our featured crafter for the day...

This is what Priya speaks about her journey as a crafter and her story of being a craftpreneur….

Helen Keller said, "The best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." To me, that is Art! A graduate in Chemistry, a passionate Bharathnatyam dancer, Internationally Certified One Stroke Painting Instructor, Fevicryl Specialist, allured towards the alchemy of arts for the past 20 years.

How it’s all started? (My Crafting Journey!)

Dance has taught me that any sense of direction to my future should come out of my own hands. This reflection contributed to engaging my wishes in sketching. I wanted my strokes to speak in this pursuit with a firm belief that Art breathes life into space. The blending of colours in creating works of art has always fascinated me. This curiosity and fascination led me to learn the art of painting. I got my artistic genes from my dad. My husband and my children, are my greatest support system and my best critics. My exposure and training in the field of art and painting has instilled confidence in me to try out many things in life.

What Inspired me?
I take my inspiration from nature... Sometimes soft and subtle, sometimes rustic and grungy... That's how my projects are. And whatever work I do, I put my heart and soul into it. In most of my works, you can see a positive quote that encourages one to believe in oneself. Every element used in my work stands out to the viewer, and thus retains its beauty. I prefer to leave my works immaculate, possibly because of my traditional background. I leave my roots unearthed... That is, I try to retain the background as much as I can, in my works too (pun intended).

My Most Favourite Crafts of All?
