Hello Craftpreneurs,
We are back with our creative stories of amazing crafter around us...and beginning this month of June with " Craft Enthusiast of the Week : Divya Kothari " .... based in Mumbai...believes destiny had already decided for her to turn a creative soul by getting wondrous opportunity to choose what she wanted to do....She is a professional Arts & Crafts teacher associated with brands....Let's get to know more about the crafting journey of our featured crafter for the day...
This is what Divya speaks about her journey as a crafter and her story of being a craftpreneur….
Myself Divya Kothari residing in Uran , Navi Mumbai . I am BSc IT Graduate and now turned into full time Crafter.
My craft journey has started when I was in school and college time I used to participate in various cultural events in crafts and used to get appreciation for my work.
Later in 2016 after completing my graduation when I was looking out for jobs but I was restricted to do night shifts and travel long all the way .So, I started my new Venture “Divya’s Creation”. In the same year I got an opportunity in renowned school to work as an “Art & Craft Teacher”. And I never feel regretted for taking this decision for myself.Believe me, teaching kids give me immense of happiness and satisfaction for my work. Also I am certified Pidillite Fevicryl Teacher and like to take workshops for kids and ladies.
How it’s all started? (My Crafting Journey!)
From childhood I was very much interested in artistic stuffs and I used to like spending more time with my brushes and colours.I began with doing Paper Quilling and its my all time favourite. Later on the happiness of clients with their charming smiles encouraged me more to craft wholeheartedly.
What Inspired me?
Work of different artists inspires me through YouTube and Facebook. Also nature plays an important role where I see different shades of colours and its beauty inspires me to create something new each day. Although , there are various crafters from whom I would always like learning new tips and techniques.
My Most Favourite Crafts of All?
All projects are equally favourite nothing specific. As all has the same amount of love and dedication towards it.
My style of crafting?
There is no such particular style. Although I like crafting from my heart and soul so, I never stop myself to try or experiment any art forms. Trials and errors makes me more confident in any art form. Basically I started with Paper Crafting ... Paper Quilling, Origami etc. As on the time passed I also tried my hands on decoupage which increased my patience level more. And now I’m into Scrapbooking and Mix Media.
My Future Plans?
I desire to learn more art forms and create more personalised Home Decor stuffs. I aspire to create more smiles with my crafts by creating handmade gifts .Also, organise various craft workshops to inspire more people who love crafting.
Message for all Crafters!
“TRY..TRY...UNTILL YOU SUCCEED"
“PRACTISE MAKES MAN PERFECT"
This two proverb I knotted in my childhood , same I would like to tell my crafty friends to knot it. As until trial and errors we can’t learn and grow ourselves. And secondly, PRACTISE ..!!! till you achieve it.
And lastly, I would like to tell crafty folks to create from your heart and get inspired from craft community and learn something new.”NEVER STOP YOURSELF FROM LEARNING NEW!!!”
