Hey folks!
I am really excited to show you my summer beach card for this month’s challenge.
A little bit of background before we dive into the project… When we first decided on this theme, I spent around 1-2 weeks trying to come up with ideas and may have made 2-3 cards that I wasn't quite happy with.
I am a card maker and not a mixed media artist so I mostly rely on my stamps and techniques to make cards. I don’t really own any summer/beach themed papers, stamps etc. So this card is made from using nesting dies in basic shapes, some fuzzy cutting, water colours and some stamps from other sets.
Here are the things you will need to create the card above:
➤ Watercolours
➤ Cardstock
➤ Colour paper
➤ Stamps of your choice
➤ Rectangle, circle, square, star/triangle nesting dies
Step 1: For the background, create waves using watercolours. I created an ombre effect by using different shades of blue and by painting over one another.
Step 2: To create the rainbow, use circle nesting dies to cut out each colour as shown below:
Step 3: The clouds were created using some fuzzy cutting. For the sun, I used a circle die cut and some star die cuts as shown below:
Step 4: To create a polaroid frame, use a rectangle and square die as below:
Step 5: Finally, arrange all the pieces together using foam tape or glue!
I hope you liked the fun little card above. I can’t wait to see all the wonderful projects you will create for the challenge!
Happy Holidays!
