Altered Chopping Board Tutorial by Rachana Agrawal

Hello Everyone,
Myself Rachana, and today I bring you an altered chopping board that can be used as kitchen decor for this Friday Inspiration Project for you all.

Let’s begin with list of supplies used:
# Mixed media Gesso
# Mod Podge
# Little Birdie Chalk Paint(Wild Wasabi, Charcoal)
#Ranger’s Distress Ink
# Brushes, sponges, stencils, metal embellishments, mulberry flowers, cotton thread
# MDF cutout (chopping board)
# Tissue
# Varnish
Now you all can follow below simple steps to create an altered chopping board for your kitchen decors.
Step.1: Clean the MDF base properly, here I have used chopping board.

Step.2: Apply mixed media paste with little water with help of gesso. Cover whole chopping board with it.

Step.3: Choose your favourite tissue and tear the covering and cut the desired portion with hand. Paint the chopping board with wild wasabi chalk paint leaving little space for placing the tissue and paint quote MDF cutout with charcoal chalk paint.

Step.4: Now place the quote MDF cutout at desired position(but do not stick) and apply light layer of decoupage glue in the space left and stick the tissue such that no wrinkle are from. Press with hand and do little by little, bit slowly and try to cover the space. Use cotton thread to wrap the neck of chopping board.

Step.5: Now remove the quote MDF cutout and give the brick effect randomly with the help of stencil and distress ink. Once after board is dried, apply varnish. Stick the quote cutout on top of it , I have used metal embellishments, mulberry flowers and handmade clay miniature veggies to decorate further. Your chopping board is ready now.

Hope you all liked it and will give it a try, do share your comments, share if you like …and in case you gave it a try don't forget to share with us.
Thanks for stopping by to read about the project.
Rachana Agrawal.
