We are excited to introduce you to our “Craft Enthusiast” ……” Cassie Choquette” who is a maker of amusing body butter, scraps and soaps all handmade and owns Naturalistic Moments.
This is what Cassie speaks about her journey in crafting all these handmade products and what inspired her to do it.
For years, I have been interested in natural health and living. When my son was three he was diagnosed with eczema, the treatment was prescription steroid creams and cortisones until he possibly grew out of it. The problem with these creams is that with prolonged use it can damage and thin the skin, the dermatologist will even tell you this. It is also only a temporary solution and usually needs to be used continually for 2 to 3 weeks to keep the condition under control, often only working for a period then a stronger prescription is needed.
Not wanting to begin damaging my son’s skin at such a young age I started researching how to make a natural lotion with the qualities known to treat eczema. Cocoa, Shea and Mango Butters combined with Coconut Oil are super beneficial to the skin in many ways so I went ahead and made a whipped lotion with them. Of course, everyone’s skin is different and results vary but these ingredients are great for moisturising. After starting with the lotion, I moved onto scrubs soaps and so on, using mostly natural ingredients.
Please note, we do not advertise this lotion as a treatment for eczema but the search for a natural solution is what started me on my journey.
As I continued in my craft and love for learning about natural beauty products, my sister started making candles and beauty products with soy and beeswax. We soon decided to combine our crafts into Naturalistic Moments. Together we offer a wide selection of products with health and well-being in mind.
Her Most Favourites:
