Craft Enthusiast of the Week : Priya Gajjar + Floral Cage Frame Inspiration

Hello Craftpreneur's,

Every crafter has its own journey in pursuing their own creativity, here's another day talking about a wonderful crafter with us..."Craft Enthusiast of the Week : Priya Gajjar"....sharing her remarkable journey of 32 years into creating amazing creative handmade beauties and inspiring many of us....Let's quickly dig in to know more about the crafting journey of our featured crafter for the day...

This is what Priya speaks about her journey, some of her favourite projects done in past...and about her creative journey so far...

I’m Priya Gajjar, mother of 2 brats, Naomi and Harshiv. I’ve been crafting since the past 32 years. I have fond memories of my mom doing handicrafts and embroidery and I guess that is how I picked up this passion for crafting.

How it’s all started? (My crafting Journey)

I started with fabric painting. I used to paint sarees and dress for a lot of boutiques in Pune.

What Inspired Me?

I guess my family was going through a financial crises and even though i was in my 8th standard I wanted to support them, maybe that was the inspiration or the need of the hour that drew me to crafting.

My most favourite crafts of all?

Difficult to choose, I love each and every project of mine.

My style of crafting?

I don’t have any particular style but yes making a simple project is a difficult job for me, I like to create spectacular projects.

My Future Plans?

I plan to extend my studio and give job opportunities to the underprivileged, teach them crafting skills so that they can stand on their own feet proudly.

Message for all Craft Buddies?

Everyone is unique, Everyone has a different style of crafting and that is why you should never ever think that your work is lesser than anyone else. Stand in front of the mirror everyday and tell yourself,

“I’m the best, what I make gives me immense joy and that is why I want to create projects to make myself happy”

A quick Inspiration : “Floral Cage Frame"

Today I'm sharing a very simple floral arrangement cage frame.
For this I have taken this acrylic cage frame using a sponge I have coloured this frame through dabbing technique in shades of teal, brown, and lime green.I have used chalk paints for the same.

Once the colour was dry, I have used a gold aerosol spray very sparingly from all the angles and given the frame a vintage look.

Next I have placed natural fibre in one corner and arranged the flowers, leaves and fillers on the same. That is how I have finished this project.

This project was done in just 12 minutes, so I hope you all will be inspired to create such amazing projects in such a small span of time.
