"Scrap a Card" Tutorial by CI Kavya NK

Hi Folks,
I am really excited to present my card for the June challenge. Crafting on limited supplies can be quite difficult but I am super glad how this one turned out. As it was World Environment Day on June 5th, I decided to make a card using my scraps. So let’s get started.

List of Supplies used:

➤ Some sentiment stamps.
➤ Watercolours or any other colourful backgrounds.
➤ Simple geometric stamps.
➤ Clear embossing powder and embossing ink.
➤ Distress inks or similar inks!

Step 1: Create a colourful background for the backdrop of the car. For my card, I relied on a watercolour background I made ages ago. Get creative.. pick anything that delights you!

Step 2: Create a subtle background by clear heat embossing your favourite stamp. For this card, I used some Simon Says Stamps.

Step 3: Now for a technique that I tried for the first time... use some black distress inks to highlight the clear embossed stamped image as shown below... just look at the effect!!

I lifted the black ink in some paces by using a wet tissue and then highlighted again using distress inks.

Using some left over black card stock as a base, I cut the panel to fit the card base.

Step 4: Now stamp some of your favourite sentiments on card stock scraps and distress the edges if needed.

The best part of this card is that you can also print sentiments if you don’t have any!!

Step 5: For final step of the card, assemble all the pieces...

And Voila! There you go! A quick card using scraps and supplies that you might already have....I hope you liked this tutorial..Happy crafting!

Thanks,
Kavya
