"Mighty Wings of Time"- Mixed Media Layout by Vidhi Jadeja

Hello friends,
How are you all? I am enjoying my little break. It’s a festival time in India. I am back with another Tutorial post for PRIKA. Thank you for the wonderful chance Priyanka.
This time I created an old vintage project. I just love the vintage look. It was so much fun to create it.

So here is a process how I made this…
Step 1: First step is to decide the focal point!

This time I used a waste puff block and alter it. After that, I decided my focal point which is a Sword and wings.
Step 2: Add Textures!

I have used Finnabair’s stencils to give textures. Used White crackle texture paste and let it dry naturally. For fine crackles effect, let it be air dry for some hours. After that crackles will appear automatically.

For more depth, I glued Cheesecloth at the centre and added grainy texture paste randomly on the surface. Added mini art stones too.
Step 3: Prime the base!

It is always good to prime the base with gesso, so it holds any further mediums and colours.
I gave it a coat of Black Gesso to the entire puff. I applied it as a primer so that it holds the colours perfectly as the material is different.
Step 4 : Roughly placing elements on the pallet.

I picked different things from my treasure , which will go with my vintage look.
After finalizing the stuff, I roughly placed them on the base to decide their places. So it will give me an idea about the final look.
Step 5 : Gluing and Priming the elements.

One by one I tried to place all the elements on the base and added layers to create more interest. After that primed them with black gesso too.
Step 6: Add colours!

I have used Rust paste and Patina Pastes from finnabair to give vintage and rustic look to all the objects.
Step 7: Embossing!

I have heat embossed the main objects of the project with Lindy’s beautiful colour shades of embossing powder.
Step 8: Add a focal point!

Glue down the centre object and colour them with metallique paints. After that, I attached the focal point and colour it with golden paints for a more shiny look.
At the centre, I added Glass glitter from finnabair.
Step 9: Final touch up!

Finally, I added bottle caps, rhinestones and waxes to highlight the objects. And it’s done.
